Youth Alternative Therapy

ZGBTST’s Youth Alternative Therapy was launched in February 2022 as a response to our 2021 online and in person survey which highlighted community need for additional services to support children.
Our Youth Alternative Therapy seen ZGBTST accept referrals for children aged 8 and above with mental health needs along with ASD & ADHD diagnosis who have often been left out of traditional methods of intervention.

The success of our youth alternative therapy has been documented through our support in funding from the comic relief fund which now will see the service operate until 2024 and beyond. We offer children with support through various methods such as:

  • Groups
  • Talking Therapy
  • Mentoring
  • Music Education

Each child is allocated a space depending on circumstances and our groups operate in terms so every child has the opportunity to attend.

We currently accept and receive referrals from family members, schools, youth groups, GP services, mental health practitioners, family intervention teams, social workers, other outside agencies, and CAMHS.

For more information on our alternative therapy please contact: youth@zgbtst.org or complete our ‘online referral form’ to be contacted by a member of ZGBTST.
