Volunteering Opportunities
There are lots of ways you can support Zachary Geddis Trust.
We are a small charity and we couldn’t continue to support vulnerable members of the community without your help.
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with the Zachary Geddis Trust.
As a small charity based in the North Coast, you will be assisting our organisation in capacity building and growing our services to meet additional needs.
We would be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the current roles available within the organisation.
To become a volunteer is really easy, below highlights some additional information.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Please email info@zgbtst.org with your name and contact information, along with any areas of volunteering that you are particularly interested in.
- We will then be in contact detailing the next steps, which will involve a 1:1 meeting with the relevant person within the organisation.
- All forward-facing roles (mentoring) will require an enhanced access NI disclosure to be completed before training commencement.
- Particular training will be advised during the 1:1 meeting, but usually includes either Level 2 Mentoring Practice, Drawing and Talking Therapies. Lego Therapy, etc.
- For the mentoring roles, we would require experience in a similar area.

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds for the following roles:
Youth Mentor
We are seeking dedicated volunteers to support children and young people aged 5 – 15 who may be experiencing challenges such as peer difficulties, exam stress or bullying. Volunteers will help build young people’s confidence through positive mentoring relationships. Training and supervision will be provided to ensure volunteers feel equipped and supported in their role.
Supporting Ages: 5 – 15
Commitment: 2 Hours Per Week
Mentor
We are looking for compassionate and reliable mentors to support young people as they navigate key life transitions, including education, employment and personal development. Mentors will provide encouragement, guidance, and will be a consistent supportive presence, helping young people to develop resilience, confidence, and a clearer sense of direction for the future. Training and supervision will be provided to ensure volunteers feel equipped and supported in their role.
Supporting Ages: 16 – 25
Commitment: 2 Hours Per Week
Youth Board
Are you aged 16–24 and passionate about mental health, community, and making a difference?
The Zachary Geddis Trust, a local mental health charity based in Northern Ireland, is recruiting members for our new Youth Board. This is your chance to have a real voice in shaping services for young people and helping us improve mental health support in our community.
Fundraising Volunteer
Support the charity by helping plan, promote, and deliver fundraising events and campaigns. Engage with the community to raise vital funds for our mental health services.
Marketing Volunteer
Our marketing volunteer will assist in creating and sharing engaging content across social media and campaigns. You would be helping promote the Charity’s services, events, and impact to raise awareness of our mental health services.
