Volunteering Opportunities
There are lots of ways you can support Zachary Geddis Trust. We are a charity and we couldn’t continue to support vulnerable members of the community without your help.
Current Volunteering Opportunities:
Due to increased demand, we are seeking two individuals to help us complete timely assessments for adults aged 18+.
This voluntary position is perfect for anyone currently completing studies in mental health/psychology fields, wanting to make a difference to the lives of others and gain experience along the way.
By conducting assessments, the Zachary Geddis Trust can ensure that each client receives the most suitable intervention. With the onboarding of two new individuals, this will release further one to one time for our current counsellors who provide therapeutic intervention. This position is to provide assessment only. Thursday evenings are ideal, however we are open to discussing alternative times and days. Full training to be provided but Enhanced Access NI Checks are required.
For further information please contact info@zgbtst.org.
Zachary Geddis Trust is a community lead, based and focus organisation.
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds for the following roles

Front of House (FOH)
In anticipation of our new premises opening in Coleraine, Zachary Geddis Trust is actively recruiting front of house volunteers to assist with the day to day running of Zachary Geddis Trust.
We currently have availability for 9am – 12pm and 12pm – 5pm slots in which you will meet and greet clients, answer the office phone and provide drop in clients with the relevant Zachary Geddis Trust information.
This is a great opportunity for anyone wishing to gain experience and/or wishing to contribute towards helping their community.

Youth Events
We facilitate a number of youth events and particularly advocate for this during mental health week. We offer mentoring for youth who can then support their peers. Mentors will be provided with Zachary Geddis Trust information along with help packs for parents and family of peers if they are struggling.

Fundraising
If you are interested in organising fundraisers in aid of Zachary Geddis Trust, we ask that you attend a meeting every 2 months to discuss any events you may know of or any other ideas you may have. This role will involve approaching local people, being a voice for Zachary Geddis Trust & the community, as well as keeping track of funds raised (along with renewing collection boxes etc).

Become a ZGT Counsellor
If you are interested in becoming a Zachary Geddis Trust counsellor, we require you to be qualified to at least Diploma level from a recognised validating organisation. Prior experience working with young people and vulnerable adults would be advantageous. Our counselling sessions are held in timetabled slots with unique spaces and are no more than 4 hours per week.
