Introducing Facilitators for Strength in Seasons Programme!

Meet our Facilitators for Strength in Seasons!

Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing our facilitators for our new 6-month community programme.

Open to everyone, free of charge and focused on community connection, Strength in Seasons has been designed to offer individuals the opportunity to take part in activities and courses designed to positively improve their mental health and wellbeing.

Firstly we would like to introduce Steven Alexander Miller, who will be hosting a 2-hour creative writing workshop on Monday, 8th December.  Steven is a theatre maker, writer, and creative facilitator who has hosted creative sessions for both young people and adults with a focus on storytelling as a tool for self-expression and connection.

Zara McLaughlin is a ceramic artist based in Coleraine, who will be delivering pottery workshops for this programme.  She will be hosting a creative ceramic workshop on Tuesday 11th November 10am – 12pm in her premises on the Loughan Road. This course is suitable for everyone and will be a morning of coffee, chats and ceramics!

Ciara, from Namaste Ciara’s Way, will be hosting a 6 week Yin Yoga course from Thursday 9th October 7pm – 8pm. This course is suitable for everyone of all abilities and is a reflective practice that encourages relaxation, emotional regulation, and stress relief. Ciara creates a safe and calm space where individuals feel supported and valued.

As part of the programme, we are also looking forward to welcoming Troy Hanna, Causeway Meditation, back to The Zachary Geddis Trust for 6 weeks of relaxation, mindfulness and cultivating inner peace.

For 5 weeks, every Saturday morning, join Claudia from Drumming Circle to release stress, explore mindfulness, presence, emotional expression and mood boosting through the repetitive nature of drumming.  The benefits of this session includes regulation of breathing, lower cortisol and a sense of calm.

The next block of sessions we are proud to introduce is our weekly Coffee and Crafts sessions taking place every Tuesday from 11am – 1pm.  Attendees will be treated to different facilitators each week, focusing on different creative elements.  Some of the facilitators include Deirdre Doherty, a creative arts facilitator with over 20 years experience in the visual arts, mental health and community work and Christina Smyth from Meraki Art NI, a HCSC-registered Art Psychotherapist who offers a range of community creative wellbeing sessions.  Carolyn Faith from Woolly Wild Folk will be hosting a workshop in needle felt creations, making pumpkins and toadstools to complement the upcoming Halloween festivities.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to all our sessions this Autumn.
