Zachary Geddis Trust ran Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th December.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to those who attended the ASIST training and the facilitators for their guidance and expertise over the two days.
ASIST is a two day, skills building workshop that prepares caregivers to provide suicide first aid interventions.
The ASIST workshops trains participants to reduce the immediate risk of a suicide and increase the support for a person at risk, as well as recognise what a person at risk may need from others in order to keep safe and get help.
This training speaks directly to the core aims of the Zachary Geddis Trust.
We remain committed to increasing mental health awareness and challenging the stigma surrounding suicide.
Providing community education and workshops is a central part of this commitment, ensuring that individuals feel better equipped to recognise distress and offer support within their community.
