Amy’s 12 Dips of Christmas for Zachary Geddis Trust

Our very own Senior Youth Practitioner Amy is taking on the challenge of the 12 Dips of Christmas to raise funds for the Zachary Geddis Trust.

Amy undertakes the challenge in memory of her Mum, Aline, who she lost earlier this year.

Amy explained why she wanted to raise money for Zachary Geddis Trust:

“Since the Zachary Geddis Trust began providing youth services in 2022, they have provided one-to-one and group support for around 600 children and young people.

“In my role as Senior Youth Practitioner, I have also supported young people in schools, led summer schemes, and delivered free mental health workshops across the Causeway Coast and Glens, reaching hundreds of children and young people.
“While I work primarily with those aged 5-18 and run our PRISM youth group, I am also a mummy of two children aged 8 and 10 so over the years, I have seen first-hand the growing need in our community for accessible and timely mental health services, as well as support for children and families.

“After we lost my mummy suddenly in August, the support I have received from Yasmin, her family, and my colleagues at the Zachary Geddis Trust has been incredible.

“This year, I have chosen to fundraise for the Trust by sea-dipping for 12 days in December, to raise vital funds for the services they provide and to honour my mum’s memory.
“Christmas was my mummy’s favourite time of year, and like many families who have lost loved ones, we know that this time can be particularly difficult.

“The festive period can be challenging for many reasons, including the loss of a loved one, feeling isolated, financial pressures, family difficulties, or struggles with mental health.

“Therefore at this time of year, the services provided by the Zachary Geddis Trust are more important than ever, yet these services remain unfunded.
“Fundraising ensures that the young people and families that I meet every day continue to receive the support that they need.”

Please donate if you can to Amy’s challenge and share widely!
